The RBI leader was
not who you think
In a lineup with Ohtani, Betts, Freeman and Muncy, the man who finished top in runs batted in was Andy Pages. And he did it playing less.
| Jugador | Impulsadas | Jonrones | Juegos | OPS |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Andy Pages | 85 | 23 | 134 | .811 |
| Shohei Ohtani | 81 | 30 | 139 | .889 |
| Max Muncy | 76 | 29 | 149 | .838 |
| Freddie Freeman | 70 | 16 | 153 | .792 |
| Kyle Tucker | 70 | 17 | 154 | .715 |
| Mookie Betts | 69 | 23 | 123 | .780 |
If someone asks you who drove in the most runs for the 2026 Dodgers, you will probably say Ohtani. It is the reasonable answer. It is not the right one.
It was Andy Pages, with 85.
The full table
This is how the team's top seven finished:
| Player | RBI | HR | Games | OPS |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Andy Pages | 85 | 23 | 134 | .811 |
| Shohei Ohtani | 81 | 30 | 139 | .889 |
| Max Muncy | 76 | 29 | 149 | .838 |
| Freddie Freeman | 70 | 16 | 153 | .792 |
| Kyle Tucker | 70 | 17 | 154 | .715 |
| Mookie Betts | 69 | 23 | 123 | .780 |
| Teoscar Hernández | 64 | 16 | 125 | .759 |
Pages finished first while playing 134 games. Freeman played 153, Tucker 154 and Muncy 149. He beat three team-mates who were on the field fifteen to twenty games more than he was.
Now the honest part: what an RBI measures
Time to slow down, because the RBI is one of the most misread numbers in baseball, and it would be easy to use it here to say something untrue.
An RBI needs two things: the batter has to connect, and someone has to have reached base before him. The second is not up to him. A hitter who always comes up with the bases empty will pile up fewer RBI than an equally good hitter who keeps finding men on. So the RBI measures, in part, opportunity.
That said: Pages did cash in. He finished at .274 with 23 home runs and an .811 OPS, third best among the regulars behind Ohtani and Muncy. This is not a case of a mediocre hitter helped by his slot in the order. He hit well, and he hit with people on.
What the table does not say
Ohtani hit 30 home runs, seven more than Pages, and still drove in four fewer runs. That happens only one way: a good share of those home runs were solo shots. And no theory is needed to explain it — the higher a player bats in the order, the more often he comes to the plate with nobody ahead of him.
It is the same player we wrote about in the piece on his two halves: he led the team in home runs and in OPS, but not in RBI.
Why this figure matters for 2027
Because Pages did this at 25, in 134 games, in a lineup where he was not the headline. An .811 OPS bat who produces with runners on and has not yet peaked is, for a team that had no dominant bat in 2026, a more valuable piece than his name suggests.
That last sentence is analysis, not data. The numbers above are verifiable: they come from Major League Baseball's public API and you can check them on our roster page.
